Cottage Thimbles was established almost twenty
years ago to produce thimbles for their then retail premises. Soon
we were being asked to produce thimbles for other shops and tourist
attractions and the business grew to supplying wholesalers and
customers throughout the world.
Nowadays we are a small family-run business
concentrating mainly on our website and mail order business.
Thimbles soon became more successful than our gift shop and we are
now a dedicated thimble supplier to collectors worldwide.
In order to maintain the highest
quality in the tradition of fine English bone china products we
pride ourselves in saying that we manufacture the whole thimble. As
well as making thimbles using traditional slip-cast methods we also
print the majority of our transfers, apply the gold banding,
decorate the thimbles and fire them using traditional kiln methods.
